Out of the daily flow of visual information I create new stories out of found images. I “cut and paste” these images in such a way that they fully trigger the viewer. The work has a strength of a narrative that is universal. I am fascinated by what determines your view. What makes you see that one particular image? And remember this specific image? How does someone else see that picture? And can a view be influenced? In my study I try to captivate the beholders view and intensify it by disrupting this view. For example in my paintings I use images on top of each other, above each other and next to each other. November 2015 I was selected to work in Reykjavik, Iceland as an artist in residence. I made drawings and collages from the materials I found in the residency that was left behind by the artists who stayed there before. 'Cactus Girl’ is made right after this period when I was back at my studio, using the material I made in Iceland. The painting is made with acrylic on canvas on a aluminum frame wich assures stability. Hanging hardware is included and is easily removable. Signed on the back of the painting and comes with certificate of authenticity. For further information, don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you very much for viewing my work.
