Artist Statement My artistic work is an exploration of the contrasts and tensions between the natural and the industrial, the organic and the artificial, all through a material and textured approach. Using mixed techniques, my works are composed of a fusion of materials that evoke the earthly and the primitive, while incorporating references to urban life and industrialization. The textural elements I use are not simple decorative additions, they are an intrinsic part of the visual discourse, generating layers of meanings and tactile sensations that invite the viewer to an immersive experience. The earth, the sands and the earthy colors recall the natural and the organic, while the geometric shapes and architectural lines refer to the city and its factories, suggesting a dialogue between the human environment and the landscape. One of the distinctive characteristics of my work is the drawing, which adopts an abstract and simplified style. The forms that emerge do not seek to be a literal representation, but rather an insinuation, an evocation of something older, more fundamental. There is a clear reference to archaic and cave drawings, those that our ancestors left in the caves. These primitive forms, full of simplicity and symbolism, are a testimony of humanity from its origins. The act of drawing is, for me, a return to that basic impulse, a form of connection with the deepest part of the human experience. Just as the first humans left their marks on the walls of caves to communicate their lives and their environments, my drawings act as traces of a dialogue between the present and the atavistic, between the modernity of urban life and the antiquity of the earth. Art, in this sense, becomes a response or “symptom” of humanity, a need to express and communicate our existence in the world. Through these abstract shapes and textures, the fragility and at the same time the strength of the connection we have with our environment, whether natural or built, is revealed. The simple strokes, often hinted at rather than outlined, refer to an ancient visual language that continues to resonate today, showing us that, despite technological advances and social transformations, we still share something essential with those who painted in caves thousands of years ago.
