It's a landscape at twilight, that moment when the reds and greens burst into life, and shiny surfaces gleam white, while all other colors fade or disappear. And there's the field, a curious form of roadside landscaping; green and well-maintained, visible from the second floor of a moving bus on the way to Santiago. It's a vindication of the bus view – despite the popular belief that bus trips are soulless, they still offer their own unique experiences, allowing me to travel every week.
