About The Artwork

Canopy is a portrait on fabric, created with ink and gesso and acrylic onto a background of fabric, which is on wood. Dye, gesso, silver leaf and paint on vintage fabric adhered to wood panel. I wanted to give the viewer the idea of a leaf canopy in a hot summers day, which is tropical, steamy and has the dappled light created by the shadows of the leaves.
