About The Artwork

This work was born after several studies and sketches of the male human figure, from the desire to find masculine beauty that could be admired, without gender prejudices. I was inspired by the work of Michelangelo and Caravaggio and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan and I was filled with all the work of the Renaissance in Florence(where I work in the summers) so faithful to these masters I continue with the study of current positions of the human figure and I believe strongly in the new Renaissance!Behind the work there is a legend that says homage to Caravaggio, Velazquez Freud and Bacon, which is who I thought about while choosing the skin-colored acrylics with strong and bloody tones! The feeling and experience of admiring them live is pure extasis and visual pleasure! - My painting contributes to gender equality in art and breaks stereotypes. It prevents men alone from creating the self-referential image of masculinity. With my painting I contribute to that chapter of art history that we lack, that feminine view of the naked male human figure.- ©FabiolaQuezada
