ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Carnival One is an original acrylic and mixed media painting on canvas board. It was painted during the Summer months when colourful flowers were popping from the hedgerows and inspiring my painting palette. The size is approximately 61cms x 46cms (24" x 18") and it comes unframed. It would look lovely framed in a simple box frame as mocked up in the photo above or as an alternative this painting could be propped on a shelf as part of a display. The canvas is signed on the front and has a protective barrier applied to it to help protect it from UV rays and humidity. nb: All my paintings are described and photographed as accurately as possible, but please bear in mind that I have no control over the variation in computer monitor hues. Please also note that any room set images may not to scale and are to be used as a guide only. Referring to the actual measurements noted in the description is the best way to check that the painting you are interested in fulfils your size requirements. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for looking. Suzie

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My artwork documents my ‘everyday noticings’ and explores these through my love of colour and an array of mediums such as collage, printmaking, painting, drawing and photography. The common starting point for my work is the close observation of my local landscape, taking the time to really see the patterns in nature, the colour of the ocean or a tiny bright flower bursting from a thick deep green hedgerow. I document theses colours, shapes and thoughts in sketchbooks and then process my ideas back in the studio. I may have a loose idea for a collection in mind but I soon find myself lost in the creative process itself and my work can then take more of an intuitive approach, responding to the last creative move as I go along. I find myself drawn to exploring juxtapositions, such as colour transparency versus opacity, thick and thin lines, energetic and soothing mark making, wet and dry paint applications. All these components help to portray my unique interpretation of my world onto canvas or paper. My art practice reflects who I am as a person; curious, colourful, playful and spontaneous.
