ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Two souls intertwined into one. Two beings - the Angel and the Demon - were expelled by God to Earth in order to teach Good and Evil to live together, interact and help, knowing the difficult fate of this world. Where hundreds of shades of gray intertwine, people see everything in black and white. And in this world, the Angel and the Demon need to help each other stay alive - after all, if one of them dies, the other will die too. On Earth, they meet hitherto unseen entertainment, cruel people who mock a two-headed creature, and merciful, supporting and comforting the Being. Angel and Demon learn that it takes a lot of paper bills to survive. They experience hard work and relaxation, fun parties, and an unknown and unpleasant feeling in the morning. The Creature finds friends and meets a man who wants to take something very important from the Creature in exchange for a moment's pleasure. The creature meets a dozen of such men, it works less and has more fun. He learns that certain substances make life not so dull, and in order to get the desired bills, there are many interesting ways. The world seems to him a Carnival. The creature has forgotten where its real home is. If the Angel and Demon want to return home, is the Father waiting for them?

Hi! My name is Viktoriia. I am a journalist from Moscow, Russia. I work on social and political topics so I meet lot of people’s stories. Some of them are full of pain and injustice. That’s why I did carried through the years my child’s hobby that I want to share with people. Art helps me not only to unload my brain but also to capture social phenomenons that are sometimes hard to describe with words such as: political games, poverty, gender and national discrimination, totalitarian government. Journalists in Russia are now harassed by administration. So art helps me to move on doing my job and not to give up. I adore working with acrylics. From my childhood I have been searching for my own style so now it is something between abstract and pop art. Some of my pieces are being painted just for relax but finally got deep significance. So among my works You can see portraits of different people with heartbreaking emotions in their eyes that are really mine, fun works, symbolic works. But in every of them there is something I felt in the moment I painted.
