About The Artwork

Born in Quilmes, province of Buenos Aires, Carlos has suffered from a sight disorder since early childhood. His main current interest is art as an integration, action and bonding tool. As an ENET electronic technician graduate, Carlos worked for several companies in the area of technology and infrastructure design. He soon began his own research into sensory experience and communication occurrences based on art and the public. In 2010, his “Introvisión a cada espacio individual”, an installation eliciting personal space in-sights, was exhibited at the Carlos Regazzoni Gallery-Museum. In 2011, his right-eye vision loss led him to stop working for technology companies and to start a degree course Licenciature in Visual Arts at the UMSA university. In 2012, "Renacer”, a six-meter high wire structure allowing for circulation, was a turning point in his development as a painter and an artist. In 2015, he participated in the presentation of “Resabio” at the UMSA space of “Fase7” a yearly exhibition held at the Recoleta Cultural Centre in Buenos Aires. He participated in the first Konex Bienal de Arte Inclusión with a video-installation created together with Constanza Luna, an art piece which signaled the beginning their of joint projects. In 2017, after participating in several competitions and winning several awards, his “Pentecostés” was selected at the CCR Golden Jubilee Art Exhibition. The piece was exhibited in Rome within the frame of the event and belongs to the Vatican heritage. It is exhibited at Palazzo San Calipso. Carlos is currently engaged in a postgraduate course in Art Therapy at the UNA university. Jointly with Constanza Luna, Carlos seeks to promote inclusion of the blind and to build a multisensory language together with them. They are also working on other projects such as "Mundos Alternos” and “Tierra Intima”. Last August, they won the 2019 Creative Grant Award for Art and Social Transformation given by the FNA National Fund for the Arts. In his workshop, Carlos explores techniques and materials where he combines traditional and technology supports under the guidance of artist Dr. Martín Bonadeo, in a never-ending effort of being authentic – his ever-lasting goal.
