This piece is part of a series called "Light On". I think this piece came from the assymmetrical glass panes on the antique french doors spanning the north wall of my studio. The works are simple gestural responses to light coming through windows or the glass table top on my porch in the late afternoon.

Caroline is interested in the emotional responses that happen when color, sound, and movement translate each other. Her paintings are rhythmic and lyrical, exuberant and contemplative. She enjoys collaborating with dancers, musicians, and filmmakers, always looking for new ways to communicate with immediacy and bring the viewer into the process. Her work conveys a sense of freedom, immediacy, and joy. Caroline received her MFA in Studio Art from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and her BA in Art and Art History from Brown University. She currently resides in her hometown of Austin, Texas, and spends about half the year traveling on art-related journeys.
