Castrum Painting

The summer view of the Baltic Sea in Latvia. The sun is shining, it hides and comes out of the clouds. Seagulls accompany people, everything seems calm and light, against the background of the natural noise of waves and wind. In the picture, there is warm wet sand, behind a coniferous forest, and the air here is saturated with the smells of the sea. A little boy is calmly building a sandcastle. Hence the name of the painting “Castrum” , from Latin means “Castle”. The painting is exhibited at the international exhibition in Riga from 18 to 21 August. Living near the sea gives me the opportunity to be inspired by its diversity. Being calm and restrained or restless and agitated, it takes my breath away. In my works, I show the sea in its different moods. From photographs and memory, I paint the sea on canvas in the guise as I feel it.
