ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by a beautiful and unique mineral called Cavensite found only in the Deccan plateau in the state of Maharashtra, India. I was fascinated by it when I first saw it in Gargoti ( a local name for mineral) museum at Deolali. Technically, Cavansite is a rare Calcium Vanadium Silicate mineral, which is predominantly found in India, where it forms as unique little blue “puff balls”. these little crystal balls are very fragile, but mesmerising.. Just before visiting the museum..I had painted this artwork. Little did I know ..this lovely mineral Cavensite had miraculously taken form on my canvas before I had even seen it. This particular abstract is magical. It will definately sprinkle its gold dust wherever it is. I wish to stimulate your senses to see what I see, to smell the earth where this mineral is found , like I do.
