"There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition."

"You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination."

Rod Serling

This rhinoceros came magically out of the background. I decided to keep it to raise awareness about poaching. I painted the stars one by one with a little toothpick. I went over the shape of the head with black and white charcoal then added acrylic after fixing the charcoal. I love working with mixed medium. The background is acrylic paint. I later on added the butterfly also with a sunrise background for the butterfly effect and for adding another dimension and a constellation. Maybe you recognise it?

The borders are painted with beautiful silver paint.

“The idea of transformation is most often symbolized by the butterfly which takes a completely different form, “trans-forms”, from one part of its life to the next”. I'm a French artist currently living in Muizenberg, Cape Town. I started L’Ecole d’Art in Chalon-sur-Saone when I was six years old. Since then, I have taken many art classes in England and in the US where I lived for nine years. When I arrived in South Africa in 2011, I started oil painting at the Studio with Carol Laws then carried on with acrylics with Anastasia Sarantinou at the Blue Planet Fine Art Studio in Muizenberg. I've exhibited some artworks at the Blue Planet Fine Art Studio. I have been painting at my own studio since 2018. My main themes are my love for nature, butterflies, people and music. I also enjoy doing collages and love mixed medium, textures, patterns as well as the gold leaf. I mostly work from my own photographs. My artwork evolves with what inspires me in my travels and in my life every day. I'm interested in the process of trans-formation of consciousness. My artworks aim to evoke transformation with the butterfly, transcendence and transmutation with the gold. To reflect on the cycle of life, the miracle of life, the sense of lightness and joy and our own divinity.
