oil on canvas 56" x 86" The inspiration for this painting was a napkin taken from a coffee shop in East Berlin. My impression of the city is seen in the landscape below the lettering. The Berlin Wall fell 2 years later in 1989. This painting hung in the main dining room at the Red Zone in April 1989.

Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1958, Sylvie Ball studied art and art history at Washington University in St. Louis and received a BFA in painting from the School of Visual Arts in 1982.
