The Layered Traces of Space: Where Memories Intersect I find a profound sense of liberation in being a stranger in an unfamiliar place. In travel, the weight of a memory is rarely determined by the duration of time spent in a space; instead, it is defined by the fleeting emotions and external fragments that linger long after we leave. Even when we share the same "here and now," our memories diverge, leaving behind invisible traces that are entirely unique. My work is an exploration of these traces. I gather curiosities and lingering fragments of "space," using the perspective of my present self to imagine the memories of others. On the canvas, I fragment and layer colors to overlay new narratives onto memories that are gradually fading. The juxtaposed colors on the screen each hold their own territory. At times they harmonize in perfect stillness, and at others, they clash and divide. This visual language serves as a metaphor for our collective existence: a tapestry of diverse individuals, each carrying distinct thoughts and experiences. Through this interplay of color and space, I invite the viewer to witness how these differences eventually find a way to coexist and blend into a singular, vibrant harmony.
