ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This fantasy painting is related to myths and legends about Niflungar/Nibelungs - legendary creatures in Scandinavian epos. They originate from Niflheim, land of fogs, though in our world they guard treasures hidden in earth and can guide to them. In North European group of cultures they represent the element of ice, that is earth. They may be mixed with gnomes or Nebelungs as a family name mentioned in songs and sagas. Let's investigate this Element, Spirit and visualization together... Very rare for this author is the approach to depict a creature directly. Still several fantasy portraits exist in the collection.
