Chilli and Charcoal Painting

Having being brought up on the shores of the Indian Ocean in Muizenberg, Cape Town surrounded by mountains casting their shadows on the ocean which acted as my canvas, I would sit on the beach up the road from my home and watch the ocean and mentally conjure up scenes which I soon learnt how to transpose onto linen and later canvas. Having studied fine art at the Technical College, this training helped me express my visual thoughts which influenced my childhood. My work is characterised by bright, powerful colour blended with heavy textures delivering a powerful in your face abstact work which can bring vibrance and music into any environment. Being an artist, I face constant challenges as to changes in our environment but am always thrilled to observe peoples expressions and views of my works which are essentially an extension of my personality.
