Born in the United States, Jacob Hiley is a self taught artist and illustrator primarily working with water colours. His work is largely inspired by a desire towards naturalistic aesthetic expressions of beauty, and an imperative against gender conformity. The ethic of Jacob's work is an assertion against convention, a re-contextualisation of beauty against normative associations. In November 2016 his work was included at Luxembourg Art Week, where ten of his works were displayed before an international audience of buyers and collectors. Jacob has been painting for as long as he can remember and in 2007 he was awarded 1st place in the Leon Levine Foundation "A Decade Inspired by Eli Wiesel" Art Contest, and he has also taken part in a number of exhibitions in his home state of North Carolina. Now, practicing within Europe, Jacob seeks to expand his aesthetic horizons and build his profile as a pre-eminent and progressive painter of contemporary beauty standards. Chat Conversation End
