Inna Deriy's biography is enriched by her pioneering spirit and dedication to her art. With roots in the southwestern part of Siberia, she was raised in a family of geologists, where she developed an early appreciation for the wonders of nature. From her childhood, Inna spent extensive time accompanying her parents on geological expeditions, immersing herself in the rugged landscapes and remote corners of the Earth. These formative experiences instilled in Inna a deep love for nature's beauty and intricacy. Having visited secluded places on Earth during these expeditions, she developed a profound connection to the natural world, which would later serve as a wellspring of inspiration for her artistic endeavors. Graduating from a prestigious art school in the mid-90th , Inna embarked on a creative journey marked by innovation and versatility. Her passion for oil painting and stone mosaic making led her to participate in numerous projects and exhibitions, including leading an art endeavor on behalf of the Siberian Division of Science. In 2004, Inna made the bold leap to the United States, where she embarked on a new artistic path. Breaking away from traditional oil and pastel mediums, she pioneered a groundbreaking technique of painting with pigmented polymers on stone, glass, canvas, and wood. The result is a collection of works characterized by vibrant, bold colors and a stained glass appearance, reminiscent of the natural stone collages her parents collected on geological expeditions. Inna's technique, which she aptly named liquid mosaic, is a testament to her innovative spirit and artistic vision. Collaborating closely with her husband, Alex Derry, an engineer, Inna continuously pushes the boundaries of their craft, experimenting with new methods and materials to create unique, captivating pieces of art. In a world where conformity reigns, Inna's work stands out as a beacon of creativity and originality, with no parallel in the art world.
