This is the largest framed multiple image artwork to date in the series City.Skies.London by award-winning artist Sarah Kudirka, comprising 54 original paint + polaroid works. (The artist regards these multiple images framed in a grid as a single artwork within her ongoing series of City.Skies.London images, begun in 2012). Most of these images are based on snaps taken as the artist walked in the square mile and its Shoreditch fringes. As the artist started making these polaroid works she put them up on her studio wall and watched the installatoin spread like a colourful urban plan. This large set of images effectively brings to mind that first installation with its work-in-progress vitality. NB This artwork has been exquisitely framed (by Darbyshire) under highest conservation standard museum-quality glass

Sarah Kudirka (nee Davenport) is an award-winning contemporary British artist who makes art about the shapes and edges of things: buildings, cities, objects and words. An artist producing striking and mature work, she brings both passion and playfulness to her work. Sarah's paintings are made by using oil paint and pencil applied directly over Polaroid shots that she has taken while walking through cities. The idea is simple: walk and look up at the sky in between the buildings. The resulting art is compelling. She reimagines the city streets and skyline in paint and pencil on Polaroid scale, never copying the photo obliterated beneath. Her series 'City Skies London' now numbers over 400 images and they are available both unframed and in exquisitely framed grids. Just a couple have been enlarged and are offered as limited edition prints. Sarah is now also working on series about Berlin, Glasgow, Hong Kong and Sydney. The artist is inspired by all sorts of stuff to do with material culture; street furniture; the built environment; urban landscape; design; language and architecture. Characteristically lo-tech and handmade in aesthetic, Sarah Kudirka's work is regarded as technically-innovative, accessible and beautiful.
