Inspired by the School Strikes For Climate, this artwork is part of a series based around protesting children. The subjects are drawn from images provided by parents, found reference and my own photoraphs from school strikes in Australia and the UK. All of the children are real climate protestors. I felt it incredibly important and timely to capture this movement, surely the first time millions of children around the world have taken to the streets to protest, to call for action on the climate crisis we face. Non of my subjects are smiling; I hope that the viewer will feel their discontent, despair, and anger at being let down by governments and adults when their future is at stake.
