Painting: Oil on Wood.
This painting is of a flowering agave plant. This kind of agave only flower once when they are about 25 years old and then die. The title is inspired by the poem 'Do not go gentle into that good night" by Dylan Thomas.
Part of a series of small scale 'plein air', 'alla prima' paintings done in Italy and Berlin in the Summer of 2015. Working on such a small scale with these landscapes and still lives enables me to concentrate on the whole image at once and helps to keep the brushstrokes loose.
Framed in a heavy, black lacquered beach wood frame.
