Mark Osterman was born in 1971. He received his B.F.A. in painting from the School of Visual Arts and his M.A. at New York University. Mark Osterman is an artist whose work has crossed multiple mediums including drawing, sculpture, installation, digital collage, and painting. While living and working in Miami Beach, he has focused and explored digital collage and painting at length. Drawing upon mass media culture and contemporary social issues as a conceptual basis, he has refined his visual and conceptual vocabulary to create open ended narratives for the viewer to contend with. Mark Osterman’s work can be found in public and private collections and has been seen in numerous exhibitions including: Bridge ArtFair in Miami Beach, ArtExposium in West Chicago, Bernice Steinbaum Gallery in Miami, Kunst Motel in Miami, The Wolfsonian-FIU in Miami, Edgezones Gallery in Miami, and at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach. Mr. Osterman has been awarded two grants from the Creative Capital Foundation, an Artist Access Grant from Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs, an Artist Residence from Atlantic Center for the Arts, and selected as a juried artist for the Art Center/South Florida.
