"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometime courage is the quiet voice at the end of day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'" — Mary Ann Radmacher

This painting was helped along by my husband. I was complaining that I couldn't find a good idea to paint, and he within a few minutes sent me such an inspiring quote! It gave me a strong image, like an office man who is getting off work late, and is dragging his zombie-like body home, after working hard for more than 12 hours but failing to achieve anything at all. And just like in every Hollywood movie, there comes a dramatic twist. While he is depressed, looking up into the dark sky, he sees the snack bar sign, which cheers people up, saying: everything will be all right, just try it again! The cold dog will turn out become hot dog eventually!

My art wants to put a smile on your face. All of my paintings tell a story, and every story has a little twist. You'll have to look closely: details matter to me. I was born and grew up in Taiwan, and moved to the Netherlands in 2014, where I am again living now after a 2-year stint in San Diego. You can check out my Instagram for a mix of work in progress and snapshots of my life with husband and cat.
