ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This composition is unlike anything I’ve ventured to create so far. The texture beneath is our rough side that we don’t show to the world, and the polished squares represent the rigid boundaries in which we conform to for social acceptance. My play on color for this piece exemplifies my lack of willingness to conform. It’s a direct shout out...”look at me”. My shape may appear square, but I’m visually my own color.
