ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A tranquil park adorned with nature's autumnal palette, tree leaves glow in shades of fiery red, burnt orange and gold. The surface of the water, like a canvas, reflects the palette of colors decorating the trees above, and a white bridge spans the gentle waters, harmoniously contrasting with the bright background of foliage. I painted this painting en plein air at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury, North Carolina

I am a Ukrainian artist, living since December 2022 in North Carolina, USA. My love for nature and drawing has determined my direction in life. I have been painting for about 20 years, mostly in oils. Since 2013, I have been a member of the association “Portal of Independent Artists of Ukraine”. She actively took part in many exhibitions in Ukraine, Canada and Greece. In the course of my creative activity, in order to improve my professional development, in 2022 I graduated from the private Academy of Realistic Art named after Svyatoslav Brakhnov in Kyiv. In my works, I pay a lot of attention to landscapes. I never get tired of watching sunsets and sunrises. I like to go out into the open air. This is a magical time when you merge with nature, listen to the whisper of the wind, the singing of birds and try to convey the state of the passing moment onto the canvas. The Academy uncovered the art of portraiture for me; I always wanted to learn how to draw them in order to combine the beauty of nature and the mystery of the human image, because their close connection reveals hidden feelings, emotions and desires. I want my paintings to evoke a deep emotional response and make me think about the present moment.
