Colors Painting

Born in 1982 in Reunion island, France Lives and works in Sallanches, France   Barbara Rosé Joanny is a « musicolor » painter, using music to inspire and create her works. Having trained as a musician, she  became a composer and a piano teacher at the conservatory of music, and ten years ago began to use her musicality in painting.  In her creative process, music and art have become inseparable. Painting is for her the need to create through another vector than music, the need to enter into meditation through painting. Her artistic quest has led her to combine her two passions to explore a contemporary pictorial narrative where painting and music subtly intertwine. Her painting is quite intuitive,  with particular attention paid to the choice of colors, the working of textures and depth, in constant connection with music in a synestesic relationship. The tempo, the tone, the rhythm, the phrasing, the nuances, the atmosphere of a musical work all influence her way of painting. Her inspirations are numerous : Gerhard Richter, Joan Mitchell, Yahne Le Toumelin, Zao Wou-Ki, Vassily Kandisky, Paul Klee, Willem de Kooning, Frantz Kline, Sayed Haider Raza and many others. She has been developing a reputation in contemporary art since 2016.
