This work, entitled "VW Seventies Combi," depicts with remarkable finesse an iconic Volkswagen Combi, a vehicle par excellence symbol of the hippie culture of the 1960s and 1970s. The paint, with its vibrant color palette, blends shades of weathered sky blue with rusty hues, emphasizing the vintage character and natural wear and tear of time. The front of the van is decorated with floral motifs, inscriptions of words of love and peace, as well as the famous symbol of peace, typical of hippie iconography. The colors of the illustrations add a touch of nostalgia and authenticity, taking the viewer back to a bygone but iconic era. The artist masterfully captured the details, including the iconic Volkswagen logo, golden-shimmering headlights, and yellowed license plates, which enhance the retro and realistic effect of the work. The drips and splatters of paint seem to mimic rust and wear, adding a textural and tactical dimension to the picture. This painting is not only a representation of a vehicle, but a true tribute to a cultural movement that advocated freedom, love and self-expression. At a glance, the viewer is transported to a time of social and artistic effervescence, reminiscent of music festivals, pacifist rallies, and a community united by shared ideals. The precision of detail, the richness of the colors and the sentimental depth of this work make it a must-have piece for lovers of contemporary art and cultural history.

Born in Courrières in the North of France, I share my time between the North of France and Paris which inspires me many urban scenes including café terraces. I have always used oil paint because slow drying suits my technique better. I work in series by inspiring my surrounding, places I go to, objects I own and stage. In the series "Réflexions sur le temps qui passe", I treat the cars and Vespa in the manner of the "vanities" of the past by perforating the bodies, rusting them, thus translating the time that passes and which reduces to few things once prestigious vehicles. The parallel is obvious with our own existence. In the still lifes séries, I stage objects with a preference for metal and glass and using a palette of coloured grey and nuanced white so as to have a contemporary touch. In the series "Mes petites Nanas", I interpret scenes, situations, by putting in scene my daughter who is used to me as model (The comedy of the feelings, or the works on the small girls). Finally, the urban landscapes are inspired, as I said earlier, by my numerous stays in Paris where I live part of the year.
