ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I liked the idea of Piet Mondrian's abstract squares meet the figures of Keith Haring. He uses a very similar visual language like Mondrian: clear monochrome colours, clear well defined shapes and black lines. Both ways are very similar, yet fundamentally different. Mondrian stayed very abstract and mathematic whilest Keith Haring braught his lines to life. Though very simple as a drawing the figures come to life in an intense way. To me it seemed natural to join both together as an hommage to both artists and their unique, sophisticated and profound minimalistic art. The straight squares become alive and start dancing - that's my idea of this piece. It gives a smile to me and I hope I can pass it on. Notice: The colors of the original acrylic painting differ to a certain degree due to digitalization and screen display.
