Holding a paint brush within my hand promises to my very soul a journey of maturity, not only of self- exploration. I am inspired by human expression, and I choose to focus my art around portraits and the use of black and white photographs as my starting point. However, to enable my self-expression through each canvas, it is essential that my brush strokes are complex creating density, tension and depth in my composition. Silvered photographs allow me to concentrate just on form and shade, so that I can freely select my choice of colors and let these evolve according to my inspired emotional state. There is a constant play of warm and cool in my paintings, and I try to balance these using vibrant shades to envoy the complexity of expression. Ultimately, I let go of realism and allow truism.
