ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Corner Pocket" was inspired by memories of a dive bar with pool tables in lower Manhattan. On Tuesday nights, an incredible dancer/DJ played great music perfect for dancing west coast swing. West coast swing, which has a slotted, back and forth movement, is usually danced to slower music, especially rhythm and blues type songs. The mark making in this painting indicates this motion. The gridded, horizontal composition of this piece signifies a calm, laid back vibe. It has a contemporary thin white floater frame that brings the dimensions to 12 3/8" x 12 3/8" x 1 1/2" deep. Decompress and ease into relaxation with this predominately neutral toned painting.
