"I will not crush the world’s corolla of wonders and I will not kill with reason the mysteries I meet along my way in flowers, eyes, lips, and graves. The light of others drowns the deep magic hidden in the profound darkness. I increase the world’s enigma with my light much as the moon with its white beams does not diminish but increases the shimmering mysteries of night — I enrich the darkening horizon with chills of the great secret. All that is hard to know becomes a greater riddle under my very eyes because I love alike flowers, lips, eyes, and graves." (Blaga)

Artist Statement “Andrada's painting consists of delicate landscapes, soft, even velvety, often evanescent and seductive... mysterious. Sometimes you may see a glimpse of moving waters, transfigured unicorns, roaring sea, abstract profile of poplars, relics, tinted black colored tracks (which contrast with blue which intertwine), golden arabesque, mysterious trees in the dark of the night, landscapes constructed with lights and shadows, amber textures. All the pictorial elements exert a suggestive charm, especially in their infinite variations of grays and blues, which give a meaning to the dreamlike and evocative works. The colors here have a deep sound between transparency and diffuse light; they are at the dissolution of the matter, which turns into a fairy tale. It is a musical and lyrical image: these two realities actually proceed in parallel. It seems as the painting comes from darkness toward the light. For Andrada this is a tool for interpreting the world: we find a strong sense of balance and harmony within a matter charge of silences, expectations, sometimes lingering doubts. Although her technic is often abstract, there is always a close relationship with the outer and inner reality of the artist. In a sweet and sumptuous apocalypse of shapes and colors, the painting transports the viewer into a sphere located between dreams and awakenings, between reality and imaginary, between transcendent and immanent in a sort of permanent charm. The artist originally from Romania, lives and works in Canada where she received numerous exhibitions. Her works can be found in many private collections in Canada, United States, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Brazil and as well as Europe. “ (By Pino Nicoletti, art curator and art critic, Matera, Italy)
