Forms in dark colors (dark blue, dark purple and dark khaki green) serving as a setting for the off-white gestural calligraphy that harmonizes perfectly with the geometric shapes. Step back and take a closer look." C.Valle Creative process: Cécile Valle begins by creating small sketches in notebooks, which she calls "skeletons" because they form the backbone of her work. Once the composition has been selected, she prepares her canvas and sketches the structure of the composition succinctly in charcoal. Then she begins to work on her colors and materials. Cécile uses pigments extensively, as well as acrylics, inks, graphite and oils.
