Cosmic Wonder CW11-Sold Painting

Painting: Acrylic, Heavy Gesso, Patina and Full spectrum on COPPER Acrylic on 22 gauge Copper, Size 24"x 24" Copper is a wonderful substrate to work with. By etching and grinding the copper, it creates a wonderful iridescence and reflective, translucent surface. My recent works are abstract paintings titled "Cosmic Wonder". My work is focused on imaginary Solar Systems, Nebula, and Planets. Dependent on color, texture and composition, these works have a physical subject which evokes the idea of other planetary thoughts and emotions. I am intrigued by this idea that we are not alone in the universe and for this reason I define my art as abstract realism, a sense of cosmic wonder.
