This original, contemporary Indian ink is unique and signed in pencil. It is a work on paper, in black and white with a part drawn in gold. A moving drawing painted in black Indian ink inspired by calligraphy and a part drawn in gold leaf. "As one could not sew a cloud, I sewed gold on this flight of ink, this galloping movement. It is an artistic research on the fluidity of the ink and the gesture, the sure and flexible gesture at the same time, accompanies the ink in its way. When it works I do not know any more if it is my hand which accompanies the brush or the ink which guides me and leads my hand. I really like the contrast between the solid, fluid black part and the part where the ink marks all the fine lines of the brush hairs".

Christine Guichard creates works on paper, she's living and working in France. She plays with the luminous whites of the paper and the velvety blacks of the ink. Her recent work adds gold to her combinations of black shapes on white paper. She has notably created artworks in which the paper is embossed, it becomes itself a relief, hollows and peaks, some peaks can shine, adorned with gold. Passionate about the technique of ink, she is specialized in engraving. The metal plate is not only a matrix that supports a drawing to be reproduced, It is, for her, already a material to be worked which will be like sculpted in relief. Another essential part of her work is done when she is printing the plate, like a photographer developing his photographs to adjust the contrasts, the saturation, the light. At this moment, she looks precisely for the color, experiments with certain effects, the crackled, the velvety, the viscosity of the inks, or combines different techniques on the same print (engraving on plastic, wood, linocut). His prints of engraving and embossing are unique or in limited editions and always printed on very high quality papers 100% cotton and PH neutral.
