The theme of my work is the interconnectedness of all life. The birds of the air, the fish of the sea and we humans are all dependent on each other. Our connections to each other and the earth carry with them a responsibility to care for each other. I paint layers of acrylic paint over collage papers to build up a surface on which to blend imagery of birds, fish and people. I like to examine the patterns in nature and use them as a design element to show connection. My content emerges out of an interesting textural environment creating novel visual connections.
