My name is Jorge Alvarez, and I find inspiration in the dynamic interplay between spontaneity and creation. Born in Havana, Cuba, and now residing in the vibrant city of Miami, Florida, my artistic journey has been a testament to the power of intuition and the unpredictable nature of the artistic process. With a portfolio boasting fifteen group exhibitions and five successful solo shows, I have been fortunate enough to share my unique artistic vision with a diverse audience. Along this path, I have witnessed approximately one thousand pieces find new homes, a testament to the connection my work forms with those who encounter it. My artistic process is a delicate dance between surrender and control, where the paintings seem to take on a life of their own. Without any preconceived notions or initial direction, I allow the canvas to guide me. Through bold brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and expressive gestures, the paintings gradually unfold, revealing their own stories and identities. In this sense, my paintings truly paint themselves, becoming an entity separate from my conscious intentions.
