Along with many around the world this past summer, I was entranced by The Great American Eclipse which traversed the entire United States from Oregon to South Carolina and passed through my home state of Georgia. I was lucky enough to be in the path of this solar event and see a 98% eclipse from a beautiful lake in the North Georgia Mountains. The last total solar eclipse on American soil was over 38 years ago and is actually a cosmic coincidence. The sun is 400 times larger than the moon but the moon is 400 times closer to the earth so they appear to be the same size in the sky during a solar eclipse. This monumental experience clearly had an unanticipated impact on my painting and influenced the title and subject matter of this new series of paintings.

Her works lets you know the artist has a rich and interesting life - played out on canvas. I adore knowing Jacqueline more deeply through her body of visually stimulating works - yet, resting in them as well. A very delicate balance..."
