Carlos Cea was born in 1990 in the state of Chiapas, at a very young age he shows fascination for drawing, this fascination led him to develop aptitudes during his adolescence towards design and architecture. His restlessness leads him to find in graffiti the form of expression and experimentation that would later conduct him to study the Bachelor of Visual Arts at the Universidad de Ciencias y Artes de Chiapas (UNICACH), where he formalized his work with the inclination for Urban Art and Mural Painting. During his professional education he devoted himself to experimentalise with the possibilities offered by the various media and materials that gave way to a stimulating and constantly evolving visual language, in which each element represents a break from the conventional opening a scene to the imaginative and the unconscious manifested through the conjunction of different techniques. His pictorial work transits between the abstract and the surreal, displaying dreamlike worlds full of color in which a calm chaos predominates, where each element coexists and relates to the previous one, to create only one. Exact lines, geometric creatures, machines, patterns with organic shapes, hungry jaws that devour each other. Sometimes his style refers to pre-Hispanic art because of the preponderance of linear drawing, his ferocity and naturalness that saturate canvases and walls of an exasperating vacui horror. His work is part of private collectors so in Mexico, the United States, Canada and Germany. He has participated in diverse individual and collective exhibitions such as the "9ª Bienal de Arte Chiapaneco" 2015, "La mente se viste de cuerpo" 2017, "La maraña" 2018 and “Simbiosis” 2021. He currently resides in the city of San Cristóbal de las Casas, although his dynamism as a creator that diversifies his work Cea dedicates his activity mainly to canvas painting and wall painting.
