D-(A)-SCESA Painting

The core of the this work of art is the fall of the Olympus. Olympus intended as any desire, person, thing or symbol idealised by mankind as much as to make it divine. The destruction of the temple becomes therefore a liberating act necessary for the human being in order to reclaim his own creative and vital potential, previously the nourishment of the entity erected by us and perceived as superior. The Petrification on one side, of Zeus himself who has become a wrecked and inanimate statue, and the Escape of his bride on the other, who, rather than witnessing the fall of the power that they used to hold, vanishes and becomes a cloud, are accompanied by the addition of a clay sculpture at the base of the painting that has the shape of a hand, ready to seize the golden essence that used to animate and nourish the place of worship built by us and now liberated; Symbolism of a return and a relocation of the vital force from the venerated "object" to the human being. The hand, with a human form but in dark colours and constellated by little stars, stands also as a tridimensional intermediary between the painting and our reality.
