Gabriela Aleksandra Szuba, known as GAS, is a Polish artist based in Italy. With an academic background in economics, she later embraced an autonomous artistic journey, driven by a deep spiritual search and the desire to give form to the unseen. Her work emerges from silence and unfolds as a meditative act. Using acrylics, crackle paste, pigments and gold leaf, GAS crafts vibrant, textured surfaces where every fracture holds memory and every layer becomes emotional terrain. The material becomes time, the crack a scar, and the gold a glimmer of sacred presence. Her paintings do not depict; they evoke. Cracks speak of vulnerability and strength, of a holiness revealed through imperfection. Her palette — deep, restrained, at times dramatic — opens contemplative spaces, poised between tension and stillness, body and spirit.
