ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have been teaching about the work of Klimt to my art classes and also schools and felt inspired to produce a Klimt inspired painting. The graceful pose of Danae is echoed by the marmalade sleeping cat - Klimt adored cats so seems fitting to include one! I've used a mix of acrylics, oil and some real gold leaf to provide a textural surface built around motifs similar to those used by Klimt. Sides have been painted on this good quality cotton canvas. Have your own piece of Klimt style art with a twist!
