Signed on the reverse. This work is a part of the artist’s Abandon series and was created during the spring of 2020 while in lockdown in Belgrade. During this time, Genevieve observed that the wildflowers and grasses were left untamed in the city, as human activity slowed to a halt. This brought a little wildness and wilderness into the urban areas. The forms cascade energetically around with each other in a dance and a rhythm of life. Genevieve’s piece explores the beauty of fragility and the fact that without the knowledge of death, life would be less beautiful and less precious. The piece also takes some inspiration from Art Nouveau with curvilinear forms and subtle pink, green and gold colours. Inspired by dance the expressive and sophisticated gestures create a sense of movement. Let this bold piece transform any space, as a celebration of the natural world. Its large size, expressive texture and colours make it the perfect statement and conversation piece. This piece can be hung unframed, but if you’d like to have it framed we recommend a simple oak tray frame.
