About The Artwork

Based on Caravaggio's 'David with the head of Goliath', this piece is a modern take on the biblical story. The figure on the left, David the nerd, had been bullied by Goliath, whose helmet David is grasping in his left hand. After years of being bullied by Goliath who is the captain of the school football team, David has had enough and decided to shoot and slay his tormentor with a gun. One morning, David went to school with a handgun in his backpack. He went to the football field and shot Goliath in the head during football practice. This painting depicts David's triumphant revenge on Goliath. The question that this painting present is: which one is the victim and which is the villain?
