About The Artwork
This 3 panel painting was inspired by the forest that I grew up exploring with my childhood best friend. There was a giant dead tree that was aptly called-dead man’s tree. However it had so much new life growing from it, covered in moss and webs. I grew up in Michigan though, which is very flat. The background is inspired by the beautiful hills I see driving in California. So this image is a blending of two different inspired landscapes of where I’ve lived. Unfortunately that same forest is now the location of a newly paved suburban neighborhood. Three 24x48” canvases painted with acrylic.
