ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is from a series of work that I made in late 2014. I was attempting to find a way of playing with paintings long weighty history and its current uneasy marginalised place within the art world. There is uneasiness to these works; I wanted an instability, a sense that something is wrong and unsure. This gives the paintings a feeling of ‘past tense’ where the subject matter is somehow missing. This painting is on a wooden stretcher.
