This painting comes with a black timber frame. It is signed on the front and ready to hang with a cord across the back. It comes with a certificate of authenticity. ‘Deconstructed Coffee’ focuses on the different stages of a coffee. Each image symbolises an aspect of coffee. From the coffee bean growing on the coffee plant to the empty cup. ‘Deconstructed Coffee’ pays homage to the craft of the barista to create a perfect coffee to our liking and coffee art. It shows our fondness for combining coffee with sugar or with a sweet treat. It also shows that while there goes a lot of labour and work into a cup of coffee in the end the disposable coffee cup ends up as waste fill. So this is also a reminder to use your keep cups, please. Why do I use encaustic medium? The 2000-year-old encaustic medium is my chosen paint medium because I like to challenge the preconceived views of this ancient technique and use it in a contemporary way. I’m combining this ancient wax-based medium with contemporary techniques such as pen drawings, gilding and oil paints. How do I choose my topics? My art depicts diverse themes such as fauna and flora, fashion and luxury items, food and drink, suburbs and cities. The common thread between these topics is that they have diverse meanings or symbolic values and different people have different relationships with these topics.

Andrea Moser is a visual storyteller who uses the power of the visual image to ignite imaginations, evoke emotions and capture universal cultural truths and aspirations. She is combining a unique technique with story-driven content to create iconic works which encourage discussion and get us to think about the content. Andrea grew up in Europe and moved as an adult to Australia. The experience of two cultures made her realise that perspectives and meanings have evolved over time based on our cultural background, experiences, beliefs and values. She is intrigued by these differences and uses them for inspiration in her art. The emphasis is to grow mutual understanding and respect for different perspectives and opinions. Her art is promoting tolerance and diversity to enhance cultural connections through understanding. Her art depicts diverse themes such as fauna and flora, fashion and luxury items, food and drink, cities and suburbs. The common thread between these themes is that they have diverse meanings or symbolic values and different people have different relationships to these themes. The 2000-year-old encaustic medium is her chosen paint medium because she likes to challenge the preconceived views of this ancient technique and uses it in a contemporary way. She is combining this ancient medium with contemporary techniques such as pen drawings, gilding and oil paints to create mixed media paintings.
