We present the new production of Atelier Coolpool „HOLLY & WOOD“, starring Daisy Gold and Manfredo Weihs. The artist collective Daisy and Manfredo celebrate the 7th year of their collaboration. Their joint works emerge from connections and combinations of the art forms of painting and photography. Two art forms - two artists - two different perspectives and approaches. The new series „Holly & Wood“, was created from frozen water, which was photographed during the melting process. At the beginning of the production fantastic structures and forms were created. When looking through the photos, elements and figures were visible that reminded us of Hollywood movies. Thus a new idea was born and purposefully implemented in its own magical dream factory. Through meticulous detective work, like in a thriller by Agatha Christie, and a lot of fantasy, the motifs came to life as we know them from movies and additional film motifs were created by digital art. So no one should be surprised when King Kong and the T-1000 from Terminator 2 look over one's shoulder. In a free interpretation and their unique implementation, oil painting on canvas combined with photo emulsion, they tell us their own stories of film themes and say „dreaming allowed“.
