"Desde el Puerto de Cádiz" forma parte del proyecto “Identidades urbanas”, ciudades que he habitado, transitado, visitado o conocido, donde en ocasiones, busco lugares y rincones recónditos de ellas, un poco más escondidos y menos reconocibles, sobre todo para aquellas personas que no conocen esa ciudad, y que por tanto se convierten en anónimas para ellas, pero muy conocidas para aquellas personas que las habitan. En esta serie se pueden ver ciudades como Madrid, Londres, Nueva York, Edimburgo, Murcia, Cartagena o Cádiz. En todas ellas, en todas mis representaciones urbanas, las escenas siempre aparecen sorprendentemente silenciosas, sin embargo los habitantes siempre están presentes, por lo que las escenas nunca se encuentran desiertas, pero sí inmersas en un halo de silencio y soledad. Un espacio real pero imaginario a la vez, acentuado en series como “Nocturnos” donde, gracias a esos fuertes contrastes de luces y sombras, se muestra un momento misterioso.

Rosana Sitcha was born in Cartagena (south-east of Spain), on 8th January 1981. She was awarded a degree in Fine Arts by San Carlos Faculty, at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2005. She is specialised in drawing and painting. She has done some courses with prestigious painters such as Antonio López, Eloy Morales and Cristobal Gabarrón. She has worked as a painter since she finished her degree, focusing her work on urban landscape and female portrait, both represented from a very personal perspective. Her work has been exhibited in numerous art galleries of Spain. So far, she has taken part in 20 individual exhibitions in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Oviedo, Murcia and Cartagena. She has also participated in more than 200 collective exhibitions, including selections, awards and national and international fairs. Since 2005, she has been awarded several national and international prizes, 25 in total. Furthermore, some of her pieces of work are in different collections that belong to city councils, county councils and museums.
