Dhumavati Devi Painting

It is a tantric form of Paldan Lhamo (tyb dPal - dan- lHa mo) the guardian of the Dharma and companion of the Gynpo mahakala.. The phorm of ( tyb. lHa mo Dud – sol –ma] – ( sankr. Dhumavati devi ). In the left hands bare a lance. One with a sword (Shag – ghri),and in the second one: a lance of the shape of a Trident - ( Both hold by a Tarajani mudra – mudra of threaten) - The (tyb. Tri - sula] symbol which is also connected with yellow Tara ( sanskr. Simhanadawalokieshwara). Dzambala(tyb. Dzam’ba – lah) and mahakala families. There is in the upper right hand the sword bared by the Karana Mudra (mudra of Victory). The sword called Khad-ga which it is connected with Madziusri, Karmadakini, Cunda (tantric form of Avalokiteshvara, Mahsahasarparmardani and Mahamayuri ahara. The right lower hand is one with and skull cup Kapala full of blood – a symbol tantric manifestation - which hold in their hands also Dharmapala, yidams, some Buddhist partners, Ekadati and Dakinis. Under his buttock she uses a skin of the enemy of (sanskr. Dharma) and has it as a saddle. And she has fixed under her saddle a head of enemy of Dharma. Her hair are floated by flames - which are manifestation of flame of wisdom burning an ignorance and impurity - as her whole body is too.
