The reuse of trash is part of my painting process, so that a piece of chain becomes a symbol added to the artwork. The colour, clear on top and dark below, is setting the transition between darkness and light, yet the light is chained.

Loona Contemporary proposes mystery through the works of selected artists. To create art is to go beyond the protective cloak forged by emotions, and to erase its effect by confronting the abyss. To enjoy the art, one must be able to discern, even if only for a moment, that deep calling towards it and come out transformed. If the artist is like a gardener who sees his flowers blooming and the artwork is a flower that does nothing else but manifest itself, to enjoy that manifestation without resisting it is an act of humility that makes us grow. The creative act is to search for the seed, explore the abyss, peak into the chasm and share that journey. That is why it can be said that the artist confronts the mystery and when he does it, lives his trance. Claudio Fiorentini is the director and curator of Loona Contemporary and Captaloona Art. A good portion of the world in his history and a wealth of cultural experiences, combined with an insatiable curiosity that has never placed limits on his studies, make Claudio Fiorentini a true cultural mediator—a promoter of the arts capable of uniting different perspectives, engaging in dialogue with diverse opinions, and understanding the multifaceted habits and customs that drive contemporary culture. His literary work spans fiction and poetry. To date, he has published nine novels, a short story collection, and seven poetry books, one of which is a collection of political sonnets published under a pseudonym. His writings have also been included in numerous anthologies. His visual art—or rather, para-visual, as he prefers to define it—is a continuous exploration of abstract expression through the use of humble materials with varied tactile consistencies. Touch, in fact, is the key to understanding the essence of his search for balance, beginning with the manipulation of the base material, which only transforms into painting through brushwork once these textures are perceived.
